MechMaxx 7" DCH7 Hydraulic Wood Chipper with Honda Engine

I've used the chipper personally and for my business and am impressed with the quality so far. It's a simple design and with the honda engine it should last for years. I've also hauled this to jobs and have had no issues with this unit.

I love this machine. It starts easily every time. It does a great job of chipping. It is easy to direct the chips coming out. Everything works well on it like the reverse feed for backing out trees that get stuck. I ran into some issues putting it together, like the gas tank would not fit. I had to cut down the support that attached to the axle. This caused the tank to be tipped a bit but luckily in the direction of the gas line coming out of the bottom. One problem is the location of the gasoline fill cap. It is nearly inaccessible. I made a pvc pipe about 2 ft long with 45 deg elbows on each end, and installed a funnel on one end. I leave this device on the machine. It is now very easy to put gas in. One issue, or rather a “quirk” to get used to, is the feed rollers don’t always grab the tree, but rather sit there turning on it without pulling it in. I simply reverse the feed and either move the tree over a bit and/or spin the tree a bit so the teeth bite into fresh material. And I help the feeder by giving the tree a push until it starts going on its own. This is probably something all chippers do but this is my first and I, perhaps naively, didn’t think I would have to do that. I did not get the red DCH7 but rather the yellow DCH6. If you put small trees or branches in, I recommend putting in bunches at a time or the feed rollers can’t grab them. Or after putting in small stuff, then immediately follow with a larger tree which will pull everything in. The customer support people have been great. Answering questions and even sending me things I was missing, and more for my trouble.

Assembly wasn't too difficult, The machine is a beast. Ive been chipping small brush, pine logs 6 to 7" dia. It works flawlessly. I've got the Honda engine. 13.5 hours on it. Very happy thanks

Got the chipper and put it all together that same day only took my about 4 hours or so to put together, then I put oil in it and let it run for about 1 hour and then half a hour and another half an hour to let the motor break in a little bit before wide open use. Definitely is commercial and not residential. Ready for 100 acres in Idaho now.

As I dismantled the packaging I could see the quality that went into all the pieces as I started putting it together, following the pictured directions. I've only owned this unit for a few weeks and I've come to realize this chipper shredder is high quality and built tuff as nails to handle big jobs. Its says its commercial grade and that's definitely true. This machine never bogged down and just ripped through the branches with ease.

Don’t be fooled by something cheaper, you can’t buy a diamond for the price of a piece of glass, this DCH7 works.

The shipper was great as well as the whole process. I absolutely love this 7'' wood chipper! It is well worth the money and I have no regrets. Machine is easy to use and has proven to be very accurate. Satisfied with the Honda engine.

One of the best wood chipper equipment we ever gotten, it did a better performance than anything I have seen in this field!

Nice machine! I have run 6" branches through it and it will chew through them but you have to be patient. Make sure you keep one sturdy branch each time as a push stick to feed the other branches through also be sure to have proper safety equity when using this.
