This flail mower really works good. I am impressed with the build quality. Just make sure you keep the belts tight and machine greased.

The AGF72 heavy duty ditch bank flail mower is a beast. I have it on the back in a Mahindra 6085 and it works wonderfully. This mower provides a nice clean cut. I’ve cut up to 4” diameter brush with it and it never misses a beat.

I am beyond pleased, this is an amazing piece of equipment that is making my life so much easier. It’s easy to operate and cute so well. I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to buy one. The assembly instructions were a little confusing but I managed.

This mower exceeds all expectations. The terrain that I need to maintain is uneven, rocky and challenging. This mower handles the embankments, the trees lining a trail and so much more. Plus, I have to deal with a lot of rock and this device is very forgiving when I don't raise it in time. Overall, it is a great additional piece of my maintenance requirements for my property. It runs nicely on my 75hp New Holland tractor. I highly recommend it to anyone with this kind of need.

Easy and obvious assembly. Heavy parts, just like you would want for something this powerful. Runs great on my Kioti RX7320, 73 HP Cat 2 Tractor. Mulches the grass, not just cuts it, can get a very close, clean cut. Easy to change slope for different cutting angles. Very Happy so far.

Just received my order. Tailgate service was less than expected other than that getting ready for assembly

I put this on a JD 5055E. It’s 55 engine hp and 45-50 pro hp. It weighs approximately 5400 lbs. As far as power the tractor has plenty , as far as the tractor handling the mower it does fine but I wouldn’t want anything any bigger. Feels very stable on level ground. I mowed on an incline that was downward towards the mower or tipping side and it was ok as long as you are sensible going slow and keeping the mower low. I have quite a bit of welding and fabrication experience. I am impressed by the construction of this mower. Assembly was a 2 hr breeze. If you can’t assemble this you probably don’t need to operate it. Due to the holiday and the weather I got to run it an hour. But I went to bed reassured that I had made a good decision. It eats honey suckle, briars, japanese honey suckle, sprouts and small trees (4”diameter)and turns it into mulch. It cuts it all down to 1 1/2” high. The bigger stuff I shoved over with the loader and then mowed it. I know at some point I will damaged it but there’s nothing that on it that can’t be fixed. At this point I would not hesitate to buy it again.
From day of purchase to delivery was 7 days. The packageing was very good and it appears every attempt was made to keep it from having shipping damage. But this machine is going to be pulled through and over trees and brush so if there is a scratch or two it’s irrelevant.

First off make sure you have enough tractor for this mower. It's not a horsepower thing, it's the size and weight of the mower. When it's fully extended, angled down you need lots of ballast especially on a downhill slope.
It was easy to install, although the hydraulic fittings were not tightened and the belts weren't either. Highly recommend ordering a set of belts and hammers with the machine. I burned through a set in the first hour as they weren't tightened correctly from the factory.
This cuts as advertised. Does a beautiful job on shorter grass or brush, and cuts anything in its way up to 6in diameter. Takes some getting used to from a rotary cutter. It's like cutting with a roto tiller. You have to lift it to turn and that's an adjustment if you have a lot of hills and short areas to cut. Great around ponds and fence lines, but it is awesome on overgrown trails or driveways. Highly recommend but make sure you get the right mower for your tractor.

72" DITCH BANK MOWER WORKS GREAT. I HAVE USED IT TO CLEAR A 10 ACRE FIELD THAT WAS OVER GROWN . WORKED PERFECTLY NO ISSUES

Mower is great, I feel I was mid led by the seller on phone, the heavy duty is to much weight for my tractor, I have a 75hp the Flail is to heavy for proper use. I'm trying to sell it if sold I will buy the standard 72'' flail. I was misled by the sales person

If you're not sure, Just try to read this. The assembly was straightforward and pretty easy, I chucked the directions after a couple of steps because the assembly was obvious. I was impressed with the construction, the holes lined up and pins dropped right in, it all went right together. Honestly, I was expecting some halfwit China crap but this mower is made very well. Like another reviewer, I put it together by myself using the tractor bucket and straps to handle the heavy parts. But a stout young man could probably handle the parts by hand. Then, I put it to work. It's a beast. Mows nice. Rocks and stumps? I got plenty, they're no problem. Get off of them as soon as you reasonably can but it's fine. In one of my pictures if you can zoom in you'll see some minor damage to a few hammers. You can mow grass with these hammers and not tell they're damaged. Regardless of what the manual says, I chucked it with the directions, the mower will mow throughout it's entire range of motions. The safety of this is up to you, but it has not damaged my mower. I'm running this mower on a Kubota M5-091 (90ish HP). My farm is not flat anywhere. I am comfortable on a slight slope with the mower fully extended to the downhill side. I mow creek banks, road sides and trails. Like all attachments, it takes a little to figure out how to use it but it is plenty tough to weather the learning curve.

The 72 inch mower performs great. Had to add another hydraulic line to my tractor; and it takes a little getting used to controls. Overall, I am quite pleased with the mower.

I bought this mower to maintain wooded trails on my property but ended up putting it to a real test on a newly cut trail where I had stumps up to 6" in diameter to deal with. This machine impressed.

Certainly, you cannot power over a 6" stump, but if you ease into it, you can destroy the stump. And then there were the rocks. I hit some soft ball sized rocks and fully expected the hammer blades to be damaged when I lifted the mower to inspect it. I was amazed that there were only a few blades with chips taken out of the leading edge.

The machine itself is a beast. I've got it hanging off the back of a 75HP cab tractor and you definitely know its back there, but it's not unmanageable.

I really enjoy the ability to lift the mower out to the side of the tractor and trim back the brush that is encroaching into my trails. It makes quick work of that aspect of trail maintenance.

The only mishap I've had is that a burned off a single belt while working through that new trail. It appears that the belts were not tightened to spec at the factory. That's my bad for not checking them beforehand.

Assembly was reasonably straight forward and I was able to assemble it by myself using a strap and the loader to lift the heavy parts.

For me, the "tell" on whether the machine is a good machine is in the recommendations after the fact. And I have recommended this machine to a colleague who was looking for a flail mower for maintaining his trails as well.

This mower is great. It has a finish cut like a finish mower and the capability of handling big underbrush like a bush hog. It says in the ad for 70 to 110 hp tractors but the owner's manual says 80 to 120 hp. My tractor is a 65 hp 4-wheel drive with a loader, and I had no problem using the mower. I would go 5 hp over but not 15hp. I think it's not as much of hp as it is the weight of the tractor. This thing is heavy. You need a lift or three strong people to assemble it. I'm impressed with how sturdy it's built. Using it you can't turn like you would a mower, you have to lift it like you would a harrow or the skids on the side will dig in the ground and leave a furrow. You can keep it off the ground to stop most of the scalping like cutting around a tree. To cut around a tree, extend the mower, then mow forward toward the tree, then pull the mower to the side of the tree and extend it out for the other front of the tree. This eliminates the need for a weed eater. It doesn't like broom sage . I was running in 3rd gear in mid-range and had to go over it twice. Using a lower gear would have eliminated the need to go over it twice, but would have slowed my pace down. To mow pockets in the edge of the field at the wood line, I backed in, mowed forward, then backed up and extended the mower and mowed forward again. I liked that I could do that because a 4 wheel drive tractor doesn't turn like a rear wheel drive only. I like the ability to mow a ditch or bank from the level part of a dam or road. The only limbs I could get it to cut was on a ceder tree. Oak limbs just pushed off the edge. I mowed a hay field that gets raked and this mower pulled the thatch to the top of grass and dethatched it. Mechmaxx is new to me, but they have always answered any questions I had. I thought I had a problem with the lift, and they were eager to help solve the issue. It turned out it was user error. Once I figured out my error, I fixed it and have been more than satisfied with it.
