MechMaxx 429cc KOHLER E-Start Stump Grinder with Tow Bar

I have used the stump grinder on 7 stumps so far and it is working great. Love the way it swings from side to side. It’s a little heavy if you have to push it in the grass but the tow bar works well and you can usually position it where you want it with the tow bar. Had some trouble with it today and it seemed that the gas cap wasn’t venting and it was starving for gas. I would loosen the cap then it would be ok again. I’ll have to check on that next time I use it.

I've been very pleased with the SG380 stump grinder. I've removed 9 large stumps so far and, while it took a couple stumps to get used to the best removal method, I've gotten considerably more efficient with the process. For my needs, I find it to be a great balance of value for the price and capability in grinding away nuisance stumps. The grinder is well made, easy to maintain, and thoughtfully designed. I have zero regrets in making this purchase to manage existing and future stump removal on my property.

What a great piece of equipment to have. I have ponderosas and jackpines, and this thing is fun to use. It takes slightly longer on the fresh cut stumps because the tree is wet and the fibers hold together more, but it cut through really fast on the tree stumps that where cut last year. I ordered the big wood chipper so I can process the whole tree from top to bottom, anything thicker than 4-5'' we use for fire wood anyway.

Great machine. I bought the Kohler engine with key start. I recommend both options as they make it fun to run. I live on a mountain and am using it on trails, nothing level, have 60 stumps to tackle. I'm retired, in my 60's, and on level ground I could run it all day. On a hill, I'm done in 2 hours. It Takes about 10-15 min for a 12" hardwood stump cut to 4" below ground. 30-45 minutes for a 24" stump. I hit a lot of rocks but the teeth are still going strong after 7 medium to large stumps (12"-24"). Assembly was not as straight forward for my mechanical aptitude but with You Tube I put the machine together in 3 hours and about an hour to tweak a few of the cable pulls by my self. I read a lot about this machine and one good piece of advice is don't dig so aggressive it stalls or slips the belts. This will wear out the clutch and belts. It took only one stump to understand how to carve a stump with minimum wear. I bought an extra pack of teeth and belts, I tend to run equipment a little hard. I think this beast will live a long time!!

Great grinder. Will definitely get the job done. Koehler engine is awesome. So I'll just say buy this one you won't be disappointed.

I have a lot of stumps, so I determined this would be a good investment versus hiring someone to do the stump grinding. It was a good choice. It was packaged very well and assembly was easy.

Simply grind 2 white oak stakes with an average diameter of 10 inches and approximately 4 inches into the ground in 1 hour. Ultimately, the product works as advertised. I am very satisfied and will be putting the SG380 stump grinder to the test now that I have unlimited stumps.

I have sharpened it about 30 times and am very happy with it! Poplar and other softer wood stumps will take 10-30 minutes, depending on size.

After grinding an estimated 100 stumps I would highly recommend your product to anyone looking for this type of machine. Super strong, simple and efficient.

After 25-30 oak and pine stumps it worked great! The 14-horsepower KOHLER engine has plenty of power! I really like it so far.

The machine does its job and is very easy to use. It took about 30 minutes to grind two large stumps down to below soil level, enough to satisfy me. I will purchase MechMaxx products again in the future.

I love it, it's in perfect condition and I've completed seven stumps so far. It's very sturdy. I would chop the stump closer to the ground, the sharp teeth are great.

I work on my own farm and it fits the stumps perfectly and I think is more convenient than using a large excavator. Helps me clean up around my property.

Very good, the blades are very sharp, better than the larger ones I rented. I have made about a dozen tree stumps, all of hardwood. There's definitely a learning curve with the different sized stumps, but the more you use them, the better you'll get.

This is the best stump grinder for me. Residues from deforestation can also be crushed and used for other purposes, such as soil fertilization.

The machine is clean and has good parts. Nice kohler engine. Easy to move when doing small stump work. It looks like green teeth on a giant rotor. This stump grinder is ideal for gardeners who need to remove tree stumps from their garden beds.

This machine is the perfect size for a few of my small tree stumps. Been looking at the tight stump grind and it's been fun.

I bought this precision grinder after my land was cleared. It has ground down about 120 stumps, from 2 to 8 inches, and is still on its original teeth. Definitely a great piece of equipment.

I have grounded about 75-100 tree stumps without any problems elsewhere as well as in my own home. It does a great job.
