The MechMaxx BH680 Backhoe Attachment provides tractors with a 9‑foot digging capability for trenching, excavation, and material handling. Its hydraulic thumb helps secure rocks, logs, and debris during lifting and placement tasks.

A reinforced boom, dipper, and bucket linkage support routine digging work, while the 3‑point hitch connection integrates with compatible tractors for controlled operation in residential, agricultural, and light construction environments.

Fits Category I/II 3‑Point Tractors

Hydraulic vs Mechanical: Hydraulic thumbs deliver powered control and speed; mechanical thumbs are manual, fixed‑angle, and budget‑friendly.

Note！
Review the specifications of both the backhoe and the tractor — including recommended PTO horsepower, minimum tractor weight, rear lift capacity, hitch type, PTO speed, and connection — to ensure compatibility. If you are unsure, please contact us.
Please ensure all pivot pin set screws are fully tightened during assembly. If needed, re-tighten and apply threadlocker to secure the pin and prevent loosening during use.
Before use, check and grease all grease fittings on the machine.
Add approx. 4 gallons of hydraulic oil before first use, then add approx. 2 more gallons after startup.
Do not raise the 3-point hitch after the backhoe is attached to your tractor, as it may cause damage.

Digging Depth (two foot flat bottom)

All-round 8’6” digging depth extension capability allows access to hard-to-reach areas without the need for mobile equipment.

180° Swing Arc

The digging boom allows for a 180-degree swing from side to side. This allows you to dig into those tight spots and dump the dirt where you want it.

Hydraulic Thumb

The hydraulic thumb makes it very convenient to pick up rocks, branches and bushes, and the thumb position can be adjusted from the operator's seat for easier picking.

High quality control valve are developed by Italian technology, with high precision and shows very exact control features, offers smooth and precise operation.

Self-contained Gear Pump & Hydraulic Oil Tank

The self-contained gear pump and hydraulic tank operate independently of the tractor's hydraulic system. Provide stable flow and pressure. Easy to install, superior to PTO driveshaft. (Note! We don't recommend using the tractor's hydraulic ports to power the backhoe. Unstable flow can cause unsmooth operation. Moreover, the MechMaxx backhoe has its own filtration system. Using tractor hydraulics may contaminate the hydraulic oil, damaging components like pump and cylinder.)

ISO or SAE Control Pattern

Allow you to change the control pattern between ISO or SAE to suit your preference.

Replaceable Bushings & Pins

Replaceable bushings & pins simply replacing, easy maintenance. A full line of replacement parts can be quickly provided.

Standard Hose Fittings

JIC(Joint Industrial Council) style hose fittings are rated for 5000 psi. Usually easy to get if you need to replace hydraulic hoses. Not troubled by mismatched joint threads.

Regarding tractor compatibility, ensure that the tractor’s PTO HP and 3-point hitch are compatible with the backhoe, and that it meets the minimum weight requirement for safe operation. If the tractor is too light, it can become unstable during travel or operation. To improve stability and reduce tipping hazards, add front ballast as needed. Additionally, take into account factors like speed and terrain slope. Above all, always prioritize safety during operation.

I just put it together so I haven't used it yet but ordering and delivery were easy. Plan on an afternoon to unpack the create and put together. Do yourself a favor and get a PTO extension ($35 on Amazon) as you'll need room around the PTO shaft. Also, this is a heavy piece of equipment. Make sure it stable and where you want it when you start unpacking. Lots of videos out there describing the process so worth watching prior to attempting to put together. Overall, this is a fantastic machine, and the effort put into assembly was well worth it. Highly recommended!

This backhoe is a great value for the price. Was not very difficult to put together if you just take your time. The thumb option is great also. I got this because my 20 year old backhoe developed so many leaks it was going to cost more to fix the old one than what this one cost. I have been using it for about 2 months almost daily and it works fantastic.

Haven't use yet but arrived very fast packaged in nice steel frame.

Backhoe was received in a heavy duty frame and was received in very good
condition. installation was easy by following the instructions so far l am very pleased

I ordered this for a Bad Boy 4035 and i am happy i did. The unit came delivered with everything needed except the hydrolic oil. Unit seems well built and ahould do everything i need it to do.

I purchased the 9’ backhoe for my 63hp Kubota. It was easy to assemble and to install on the tractor. It performs perfectly.
I have dug a 50’x 2’ deep trench and 2 septic test holes in hard northern Arizona rocky soil.

I'm impressed with this backhoe for many reasons: 1) Well built and sturdy 2) Works well with Heavy Duty ripper attachment and buckets 3) Quick attach makes switching from ripper to buckets easy 4) Good thick paint job, looking for touchup color for winter maintenance 5) Seat comfortable and adjustable 6) Very competitive price 7) Accessories are Heavy Duty too 8) Customer support friendly, helpful, and prompt, not rude like competitor 9) Mounted easily to my category 2 tractor 10) Delivery driver was courteous and helpful unloading even though started to rain

The backhoe attachment was easy to assemble and attach the my tractor It works great. I ordered a smaller bucket for ditching along our dirt road. I would definitely recommend for those who don't need a full size backhoe.

When we got the attachment for our tractor (40hp), we had a little bit of trouble, as we did not have an extension to connect the PTO, however once we bought that, the attachment is like a toy for my husband. He dug the pole holes for a shop building and was able to use the backhoe attachment to move the poles to the holes. It is an incredible piece of machinery and we are so happy we have it. It replaces 2 people :)

No problems this far. Make sure you have the hydraulics compressed when you fill it up. 😅 Has worked awesome on our 15 Kioti DK50SE tractor (50 HP). From what we can tell it's the same as our Woodmaxx that's down at the old man's house but this was cheaper & in stock.

The pictures show us trying out the hydraulic thumb to move logs. The backhoe has also worked on removing stumps and rocks. It does the jobs we were hoping to get done, and it mated well with our 70HP Kubota tractor. Thank you for a great product!

Absolutely fantastic piece of equipment! I'll be honest, I was skeptical at first when I ordered it due to the low price. I thought I was going to get a sub par machine but I was very wrong. The hoe has tons of power and works great! And then to have a hyd thumb just puts icing on the cake. I love my backhoe and strongly recommend purchasing one. I promise you won't be disappointed. I put the machine together without the assist of a hoist or crane. I didn't think it would be possible but I ended up hooking the pto pump up and using the outriggers and bucket to maneuver off the frame and install it on my tractor. Only problem I have whatsoever is the color. I thought it would match my kioti tractor but it's more red than the orange backhoe, but I'm ok with that. It's for work, not a beauty contest. Again, I love my machine and would buy another one in a heartbeat.
