MechMaxx 6 inch Honda Gas-Powered Drum Wood Chipper

A few things I recommend. Get spare belts and blades. For the larger branches they seem to ding the blades. My recommendation is to chip to 4-5 inches if it is a thick branch I would feed the drum. Let it keep the speed. I am guessing that the slower speed might contribute to the chips. Can’t say. But I ordered 2 more sets of blades. Rather have them before I need them. You can hear when it slows. And be alert for chips not coming out. The smaller mulch does clog. So use a branch to free up the clog. Front and back does a great job otherwise. Just have to use the tool and adjust the feed with bigger branches.

Shipping was prompt, and communication about the lift delivery was frequent and well-timed. It's quite an event to assemble, but an online video of someone else's experience was helpful to every last detail. Rolls easily behind our tractor, and also easy to maneuver in our garage. Neatly fits sideways in our garage bay behind a car, though note that it's a 12'x24' space. Simple to start and operate, and makes quick work of our brush! We did run into some trouble near the 5"-6" diameter stuff, so I'd say that the advertisement that it processes 6" brush is a little optimistic. Mayyybe, if you happened to feed it in just so... We can take the big stuff to the brush dump, and in the meantime this machine will be a big savings over yearly, sometimes twice-yearly, rentals of a bigger machine, avoiding rental cost as well as fetching and returning the rental.

Wow! Have to say, i have been eyeing this chipper for a while and pulled the trigger when it went on sale. My first (but not the last) order from Mechmaxx! The shipping and packaging of this machine was awesome. Directions and assembly were straight forward and easy to follow. THis is a heavy duty machine and the quality is heavy duty, and you cant go wrong with the Honda engine. This machine is a beast, if you have been thinking about getting one, just do it. Big time saver that provides wood chips for your property. Just a great valuable addition to the homestead! Gearing up for my next purchase from Mechmaxx.

Great chipper. We sized up for its capacity but have only put no bigger than 3-4" limbs
This machine had no trouble keeping up with that.
Only suggestion is to be sure you take off that black cover abd check belt abd wheel tightness upon recieving and after use.
We had belt pop off as screw was loose after less than 2 hours using.

Once we knew to check that. No issues since.

After renting much larger machines, and spending hours watching and reading up on options, I am 100% happy with the B150. For me, going with the Honda engine was a must. However, I have found that the rest of the machine is plenty robust and reliable. Even after accidentally burning the belt a couple of times due to wood debris being caught in the drum, the unit has continued to work great. It’s been perfect for my use case, which is primarily chipping small/medium samplings and branches from larger trees. It does okay with the thicker stuff, but it absolutely devours small trees whole.

Very happy so far. Good build quality. Functions well. A good amount of assembly is needed, but worth it. Great deal for the money.

Great machine, however, a 4" stick of poplar will max it out, which is okay, I never expected it to chip 6" stock on a regular basis. The wiring harness is exposed and vulnerable to potential damage, but all, in all, it is a great machine and the service has been as well.

At first, We hesitate ordering this wood chipper due to big ticket item and not sure if we can handle it, but turns out it's the best purchase. from ordering to assembly, we received support in the whole process. The machine has been working great. We've used it for about 10 hours so far. The blades dulled after about 5 hours and we rotated them and it is doing well again.

Unfortunately, I called Mech Maxx concerned why the machine was doing so poorly after just 5 hours. The representative, Brian, had quite an attitude about a simple matter. I was trying to give him my email so that he could find our account and he was very passive aggressive and rudely virtue signaling. He was very patronizing of me as a customer. I would never want to talk to him again but everytime I call, he is the one that answers.

WE LOVE THIS CHIPPER AT WORK, USE IT VERY OFTEN AND NEVER ANY ISSUES. ORDERED THE WRONG BELT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS BEYOND HELPFUL GETTING ME THE CORRECT PRODUCT!

Really nice machine. For my first chipper its a beast

Received my chipper before memorial weekend. Shipping to northern MI took ~2 weeks and proceeded as advertised. Assembly took ~2 hours solo and was fairly straightforward (would have been easier with 2 people, but definitely doable solo). Filled with oil and gas and it fired right up. Ate everything I fed it over memorial weekend. Largest I fed was around 4'' oak limbs and it ate those fine as long as I manually fed slowly may have been ok if I just let it go, but I was being a bit cautious at first. A few minor complaints - 1) instructions for assembly could be more detailed, especially for the tow bar/wheel assy. Watch some YouTube videos and you'll be fine. 2) Upper expulsion chute will loosen unless VERY tight. I may modify with locknuts or something an indexing feature like automotive seat recliners would be great. 3) I don't see the wear plate available online. As a wear item I'm sure I'll need a fresh one at some point. Otherwise, works as advertised. Very solidly built and looks like it will last a long time.
