Starts very easily even in the cold (13 degrees Fahrenheit) and chips good. Downside is that the knives are advertised as T8 tool steel and that is a false statement. They are very clearly mild steel and they dull quickly. This problem is easily resolved by tempering the knives with heat/oil quenching. Or you can take the knives to a custom welding/fabrication shop and they will make you custom AR400/500 steel knives. Once you upgrade the knives, this chipper will eat anything that fits in the hopper, including dead/dry hardwood.

Best money we spent. We have tons of brush piles around the property this little machine plowed through one in a day. Easily goes through 4 inch brush and punky larger stuff. Chips super fine and excellent for replacing wood chips in the garden. Starts up even when well below freezing. Shipped super fast, putting it together was simple and only took an hour or two. Be sure to wear saftey glasses it does a good job making mulch.

The chipper is a real work horse! We have 2 acres of heavily wooded property. Finally bought this after watching 2 huge piles of branches sit around for a couple of years. It worked great. It wasn't the easiest for 2 women to assemble due to the weight of a couple of pieces, but we did it. So glad we bought it. After looking at prices for renting this was definitely the way to go! I would highly recommend for anyone considering the purchase.

I received my chipper via delivery and it was fairly easy to assemble by myself. It is very sturdy and well made. It is heavy, but easy to manually maneuver by yourself by lifting up on the tongue. After making a slight throttle adjustment, I took it out for a spin. It easily tore through 4 inch pine trees that I was clearing on my property. I have also ran hard wood (oak, juniper) through the chipper and it handled it with no problem. I can easily tow it around my property with my UTV and the pivotable chute makes it easy to place the chips where I need them. I have even sent some true 5 inch diameter logs through the chipper and it is able to handle those as well. I especially like the fact that it is more or less self-feeding. Once you get a limb in the hopper, it just chews it up. It is best on limbs with dried leaves. If you run a lot of green limbs with fresh leaves attached, the chute can get clogged if the directional flap is set at too much of a angle (90 degrees). However, if you open it up to greater than 90 degrees it can handle everything. I have even run vines through it without any issues. Of course the vines don't always get chopped up, but that is OK. I am mainly interested in chipping the larger branches and then using the wood chips to line a path around my pond. Overall this is a great chipper and well worth the money I spent. Highly recommend to anyone that has a lot of large limbs to chips. It will make quick work of just about anything you can throw at it 5 inches or less. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.

I purchased a GS1500 chipper and have used for the first time. It was delivered in 10 days with no issues and was no problem to assemble. I am very pleased with the quality of the machine and ease of use. It easily handles limbs up to 5" and smaller ones go through with no slow down of the engine.

A+ Made well! Easy to put together I did it by myself with no problems. Take your time and you will need to make a few adjustments to the hinge locks and possibly the receiver nut to lock onto your 2" ball. I will be adding a trailer lift handle, an hour meter and a battery tender charging cable. I only used it for a few minutes to test it and it worked great. I will do a follow up review after I put a few hours on it. It is definitely worth the money.

After reading many reviews I decided on this machine, and I am glad I did. I have mostly pine on my 2 plus acres property. Delivery was easy right to my home, and some assembly was needed that I did myself in two hours.

This wood chipper worked great and definitely knew the dimensions we couldn't cover - anything over 5 inches was too big. This is our first time using it and first impressions. As with many devices, it takes a little getting used to, but overall it works just like we wanted it to.

The service was great and the shipping was as I expected. First time using it, works great. It's impeccable! Its design is an art form!

I am very happy with the wood chipper I recently purchased. It's the 15 hp model GS 1500. I have been using this chipper for the past 3 days. Around 3 to 4 hours each day. This thing is a beast. I have been chipping the smaller branches off a big oak tree that fell last winter. The thing worked flawless. I didn't chip anything larger than 3 inches. I use the 3 inch and up for fire wood. We all know that oak wood is a hard wood. This thing had no problem with it at all. Very satisfied with my purchase and am looking forward to using it around the ranch. There is always something to do and this chipper is going to help out a lot.

I was surprised by this wood chipper, it has a better cutting ability than I thought, covering small branches without any problems, and even cuts larger branches easily without clogging, great value for money.

Great build. I've been using this for a while. Impressive and functional. It’s also built for safety, with a long feed hopper to prevent your hands from getting too close to the chipper blade.

Get it at a good price. The quality is as good as I expected. Shipping is fast and takes approximately 6 working days. After using it four times I commented that it cuts very well. It's much better to put the brush around your house to good use than to pile it up and then wait until the right time of year to burn it. Good advice is to wait until the leaves are dry before chopping them. Impressive chipper! Must consider purchasing!

A great wood chipper. good quality. The blade is sharp. Get it at a great price. The tow bar pulls the chips to where you want them and dumps/disperses them in the area you want. Wood chippers are great.

Arrived as scheduled as told. This is a well-made chipper that looks great. This really surprised me! Quite remarkable. I smashed a pine tree with it last Sunday. You know the pine is tough but it does its job brilliantly.

I have used this chipper with great results. I cut the thicker branches into 3 foot lengths and placed them inside. A chipper does the job. Softwoods like pine are more likely to splinter than hardwoods like oak, maple, and elm. Hardwood takes longer. Fresh cuttings are easier to work with than those left around to dry. If you have a lot of old wood to chip, chip away small branches and burn branches that are 3 inches or larger. Be careful not to let rocks fall into the opening of the leaf crusher and damage the impeller blades.

As a residential grade chipper, it performs very well. The engine is surprisingly powerful and fires up every time you pull. This is a well-made heavy-duty machine, and the tall chute makes filling irregularly shaped branches easier. It is a self-feeding machine that cuts chips quickly so you can go through a big pile quickly. Branch diameter is limited to 5 inches to keep things moving - anything larger will become firewood.

I've had this chipper shredder two months now and it still works great ... I've really put a lot of limbs through it since almost every time it storms more get blown down and my property is mostly woods. I use the wood chips in the walkways of my garden, orchard, etc. I still believe its the best money I ever spent! The larger the diameter the branch is, the straighter it has to be (no crooks or bends) in order to get through the feed tube.
