MechMaxx 48'' PTO Driven Light-duty Flail Mower

This Flail mower is a monster. I have 3 acres of brush and small saplings and it’s doing an amazing job of clearing Was very easy to set up. Packaging was very well thought out and easy to assemble. Couldn’t be happier with it. Solid attachment.

Mower arrived on time. It was packaged well in a sturdy steel frame. Top link mount was easy to assemble. Depending on the size tractor you have it may be necessary to cut the PTO shaft down a few inches. Overall very impressed with the cut of this equipment.

Needed a brush mower for clearing fire breaks around the property, went with the 48” flail over a rotary mower for better mobility in tight spaces, i.e. between trees.

Running on a little workmaster 25s and so far it’s working great through some under brush. Mulches everything up into small pieces so there’s hardly even any clean up afterwards. Compared to manually cutting the brush down with a combination of hedge trimmers and chainsaws, this is obviously so much more efficient.

Tested running over a small stump and while it didn’t knock the stump down it didn’t seem to complain. Not something I plan on doing often but I suspect a rotary mower might be damaged by this. Happy with the quality, even at the non sale price I paid, will likely be buying from mechmaxx again.

Absolutely stoked about this flail mower! Was skeptical at first, but now I’m a believer. Have property that has been neglected for years. Purchased a tractor and couple of various three point implements. However, a mower wasn’t something I was purchasing used. Had to make a decision between a belly mower, a bush hog, or a flail. Ultimately I ended up deciding on the flail, and purchased through Mechmaxx. So glad I did! I have a couple of hours into using this piece of equipment at this point, and it’s already seriously proven it’s worth many times over. Extremely happy with this purchase!

Working better than expected! Bought a couple months ago and finally got around to doing some property maintenance. This thing is chewing through the brush in my pasture. I would recommend anyone on the fence about purchasing to pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed.

Currently have it on my Kioti cs2220. On the lower end of the horse power requirements but don’t have an issue as long as I move slow.

This flail mower is awesome! Bought a couple months ago and finally got some time to do property maintenance. It is very well built especially for the price! I run it on a kioti cs2220. It’s at the lower end of the hp range but it has mowed everything I have thrown at it. If you were on the fence about purchasing I would buy it now!

I was a bit skeptical about the Mechmaxx products, but I could not resist the price tag. Other brands were way too expensive. A few months ago, I purchased a 48" flail mower. I used it to clear up brushes that were about 1/2 inch thick. As seen in the video clips and pictures, it did a great job. This is a great flail mower. I do not regret my purchase.

Hi this my first project with this flail mower as you can see it did a great job, the mower cuts through thick brush pretty well and it’s fairly quiet.I like the fact it doesn’t have a wheel in rear like a bush-hog that allows to drop it down in the ditch bank.

Instead of a lawn mower for around our house I wanted an old tractor I could work on. I bought a 1981 Kubota L185DT with 15 PTO HP. I watch Peek’s Peak Hobby Homestead on YouTube, so I was familiar with MechMaxx, and had seen that they offer a couple of standard flail mowers with a minimum requirement of 15 PTO HP. During the Equipment Expo in Louisville, KY last year I decided to grab one. It took about a week to be delivered and I was really surprised by how well it was packaged. They built a steal frame around it and then wrapped it in plastic, which completely protected it during transport. The day after it was delivered the fall rains began, and so today, March 2, 2025, was the first time I’ve been able to use it. The build quality seems very good. The welds look good, and every bolt was good and tight. I did have a burr in the PTO shaft coupler that I had to file out before it would slide on, but that wasn’t a big deal to take care of. I put oil in her, checked the belts, gave her some grease, and put her to work. I mowed about half an acre with her today, and a lot of it was 1/2 inch thick brush, which she just ate up. I will say that she is all my little Kubota can handle, but she did her job well. This is a good little mower, and I would buy it again if I had the choice.

Was looking for an affordable flail mower for my bx23s. This thing really surprised me with how well it cuts and how big of things it’ll cut. Came packaged in a nice metal crate as well which was a pleasant surprise. So far it’s been nothing but great for me and my small brush removal business. Added some before and after pics of things I’ve done with it. Would defiantly buy one again.

The mower is well built and fit my Mahindra max 20 with ease the drive shaft had to be shortened by about 7 inch but that is standard procedure with a compact tractor. I used it to clear some trails that had overgrown. The shipping was on time. I wish I could have shown a picture of it on the tractor but by the time I received the review request I hade already completed that task and removed it for the winter.

Everything was fine.

So far so good. Took a bit of effort to put it together and right size the PTO hook up. But after first use seems to be a quality piece of machinery and happy with quick delivery
