MechMaxx 60'' PTO Driven Light-duty Flail Mower

It came well protected, in a heavy angle iron cage on a stout skid. I didn't know what to expect from a flail mower, but am glad I bought it! It is quieter and does a good job. It is built tough and should last a long time. I am completely satisfied with the whole experience. It works well behind my older Yanmar 1610 with 19 HP.

It is amazing!!!!! I just replaced a WoodMaxx FM-54 with the ESF60. even though it is more cost friendly, it is 100% built tougher then higher price ones i had. it cuts and mulches like a dream. I posted a test run on thick sapling and Briar Patch it was about a .5 acer and the growth was about 2 to 3 ft tall.

was mounted on a 2019 Yanmar SA324 with 19HP pto.

Arrived on schedule and no damage. While leveling, I noticed a variation in the gap between roller and main body (see photos). The roller height adjustment bolts are located in the same holes, but you can see the roller support brackets are not located exactly the same in reference to the nearest frame detail. Maybe a fab error? Doesn’t seem to affect function in a short test run.

I'm a MechMaxx man for sure!!!! This is my second purchase from them. Originally bought a 6" wood chipper. Awesome machine. This adds to my arsenal to manage 6 1/2 acres of trees and brush...... Fit my Bobcat perfectly. Didn't have to cut the PTO shaft. The hammers are brutes!!!! Cuts great and is quiet. Pic of the field shows aftermath of the cut.....4 foot grass and light brush. Looking to get more equipment from Mech Max.

Flail mower showed up very well packaged. Even in my remote lovation it only took a couple days for it to arrive. Assembly has been straight forward. I used a good quality gear oil in the gear box. Im waiting for the next good stretch of weather to try it out!

This product exceeded my expectations, works better tham my 60" brush hog cutter. Cuts lower and cleaner and leaves the cuttings like a mulcher would do instead leaving clumps of long cuttings. Its easier to maneuver than a brush hog as well. I would suggest this over a brush hog for cutting tall grasses or weeds.

This unit exceeded my expectations. It came well packaged in a sturdy steel crate. It did a great job with brush up to about an inch in diameter. I am planning to upgrade my tractor so I bought one size up. I was worried that the BX22 would struggle to keep it spinning, but there is plenty of torque and the Mowers bearings are very good. Be careful not to cut the driveshaft too short, I measured 3 times just to be sure.

Great value, cuts great. Ordered this when it was on back order and it delivered right at the estimated time. Like that it comes with hammers instead of knives by default which is an option or add on for most other brands. The hammers give a clean cut but deal with light brush well. The shaft that shipped with the unit had to be slightly trimmed to fit my Mahindra 1533, but was a fairly easy task. Assembly was minimal and instructions fairly clear. The gearbox on the unit has been updated since the instructions, but their support team was quick to answer questions.

I have used this flail mower several times now and I'm happy with the way it performs.I'm using it with a B2710 Kubota and it leaves a nice cut.Its well built with an affordable price tag.Longevity is unknown at this time so no comment on that.Great flail mower so far.

I purchased this unit late in 2024 so I was unable to use it until spring and summer of 2025. I'm very happy with the unit's performance. I've used it on longer traditional grass with good results and I've used it in a couple of overgrown fields that had very fibrous stalked weeds with much success. I use it behind a Yanmar SA425 24hp tractor. The unit is easily serviceable as well.

Have been usong this product this spring and summer on my horse pasture. I used to mow it with a zero turn and it was a bit scary on the hills, but this piece of equipment on the tractor does a fantastic job. No more worries on the hills. The cut is even and looks good when finished.

I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this flail. I just completed mowing 3 acres of brambles and thick weeds. It worked as advertised (actually, better than advertised). It any bogged down my tractor (19 horsepower at the PTO). I would recommend this mower. I have another 25 acres or so to mower over the summer.

The mower will not work on my quick hitch(SpeedCo E-Hitch). I checked before I ordered and was told it work. But, this is not a deal breaker. Also, scraper bar welds broke, but I believe that was my fault due to the thickness of the material I was cutting.

Again, I would order this flail mower.
