Great chipper. Opted to purchase 4" model because anything over 4" can be fire wood for someone. I added a quick connect attachment to my tractor so had to add a PTO extension so PTO shaft was long enough and safe. Works great.

I had bought this for my kubota 3902 hydrostatic and i have 3 point quick hitch installed, it fits without having to cut shaft, installation i did by myself so it's not bad. Ground about 15 stumps last year and just did 5 yesterday. Last year i had my brother in law as ground guy cause it's tough to gauge from sitting on tractor and was easier for him to tell me back further or deeper, this year i was by myself and it was not as easy. Love the machine it's well built and for the price is well worth it. Hope this helps if your on edge and not sure if you should purchase.

I recently purchased the Mechmax model BX42S for my Kubota 18 hp tractor. I was a little concerned that my 18 hp Kubota wouldn't have enough hp to run it. But it has plenty of power to chew through even larger 3" inch limbs. I only anticipate running smaller prunings through the machine. I have a small orchard which I have spread mulch out on the entire floor for weed control and water retention. I had originally though I would have to replenish the much every couple of years. But by chipping the prunnings I don't anticipate having to buy in outside mulch. The machine works great and MechMaxx was great to deal with. The machine was shipped promptly and with free shipping it made the cost of the machine all the more reasonable. I would highly recommend MechMaxx for quality of product and for excellent customer service.

So far it has worked very well. I've been able to take out a couple medium sized stumps and a bunch of small stumps. There is a learning curve as you get used to positioning it for best cutting but it does a great job so far.

Using the machine in the field has exceeded my expectations. My door has never been blocked. The blade cuts wood well. Performs five stars on oak. I used it with a 30 hp tractor and the results were impressive.

Machine arrived on the 29th so haven't had a chance to unpack it due to the holidays and weather. Delivery personnel were very professional and did a good job unloading and placed the machine exactly where I wanted it. Packaged as to protect the unit.
