MechMaxx 68” PTO Flail Mower with Hydraulic Side Shift

Love this mower. Wr use it on our hunting trails and makes easy work of maintaining them. With a laneshark on the front cutting 90 degree limbs and the flail mower on the back turning limbs into mulch means no more polesaws and walking. Best thing i have bought to maintain our hunting properties. Customer service and delivery were great. Will defenitly be purchasing more producrs from mechmaxx.

The NAM68H flail mower with hydraulic offset is exactly what our farm needed! It appears to be well built and operates smoothly. It chopped up a bed of woody broccoli stalks no problem!

I must say, I am very impressed with the fit, finish, and quality of this implement, so far it's sailed through everything I've thrown at it, and always leaves a nice, clean looking finished cut. Highly recommend!

So it boiled down to getting either a flail mower or estate mower. After reading other reviews decided on the flail mower. Working with MechMaxx was easy after purchasing. The flail mower was shipped quickly and on a lift gate. Before it gets there go ahead and get some gear oil! It was shipped very nicely in a metal L-channel frame. Installation from out of the package, took about 2 hours and you will need 2 people for certain steps. Hooked to the tractor, then greased all the sub points and it was cutting. After the first cutting, noticed the bolt holding the hydraulic arm had vibrated off. I purchased some M18 x 1.5mm Pitch Metric Fine Thread 304 Stainless Steel Hex Lock Nuts to replace. This thing runs like a champ! It is super quest as compared to the bush hog. The cut is super if you are looking for something similar to a finishing mower cut, then this is your machine. You can see video of it cutting and how low noise it is. Would highly recommend.

After careful thought, I decided on a flail mower to replace my brush cutter to cut grass and brush. Upon receiving the mower, it wasn't difficult assemble, and once I was able to get to work, I put it to work. I am using this mower with a Mahindra 4550 which has a outside wheel measurement of 84". As you can see, the NAM68H is almost the exact width of the tractor, and with the slide, I am able to get closer to the fence line than I ever could with the brush cutter. I have the mower set at it's highest height as I am getting used to this type of mower. So far, I would highly recommend this mower. I am hoping it holds up well through the brush cutting I have to do in preparation for more pasture fencing.

I was a little hesitant at first to purchase this brand, but i was pleasantly surprised at the quality, speed of shipping, and communication from Mechmaxx during the whole process. It was packed well in a steel pallet and wrapped in plastic. Assembly was straight forward and took about 2 hours including setting it up to mow. I love the abilty to mow smoothly (like a finish mower), but also mulch brush (like a bush hog but better). So far so good. Just be sure to grease regularly and check bolts and nuts as well. I am getting paid for this review, but would give the same regardless. Great machine at a great value!

I purchased a NAM68H Flail Mower with Hydraulic Side shift and the hammer blades on May 12, 2025. As promised, the delivery was prompt and without any delays. Assembly was quick and I was impressed with the quality of the flail mower. It appears heavy duty and well made. Since then, I mowed about 10 acres of 2.5 feet tall grass and occasional small bushes and saplings without any issues. In the past I used an 84" rotary brush hog with mixed results. I was not happy with the finish and frequently had to adjust the speed and shift gear on my tractor (Mahindra 4025 40HP) to follow the hilly terrain. With NAM68H, I finished the entire area in half time and without a need to adjust the speed or gears. I am very pleased with the quality of the cut and my field looks like it was cut with the finish mower. Considering the price and the quality of the mower, it is a great value and I would recommend it to anybody.

I am very impressed with this mower. I have a 1 acre field of hay that needs cutting a couple times a year. I was going to buy a brush cutter but then decided to investigate flail mowers. Since I only have grass and no saplings, scrub bushes, etc, it was a perfect choice. It took down over 24” tall, dense hay with no trouble. It hitched up easily to my Mahindra 5145. From an engineering standpoint (I’m a retired mechanical engineer and licensed PE), it is very well designed. All the components are heavy duty and assembled in a quality way. My caveat is to tighten everything before your first use. I lost one of the hydraulic cylinder mounting nuts after an hour of use. This is a high vibration attachment and rechecking before each use is advisable. As far as pricing, the $2400 delivered cost is quite attractive as compared to a brush cutter. If you have just grass and small underbrush, this is a good choice.

Always purchased rotory cutter mowers. After using this NAM68H Flail Mower I will never go back. With the hydraulic side shift made it very easy to mow between pine trees.

Purchased to replace an old worn out rotary mower. Used this flail for 10 or so hours and find it much better than the old rotary. Shipping was fast, arrived with no damage and put together fairly easily.

I have used this only once and it seems to perform well, it came well packaged, but someone along the path of shipping piled the metal crate on top of two broken wooded pallets which I had to unload and discard on my own. I don't think it was MechMaxx's fault, but the shipping/trucking company's issue.

Everything was flawless except the delivery. FedEx dropped the ball hard

Cuts grass well, you do have to watch your speed to get good results. I had to have hydrostatic lines added to the rear of my tractor

Once I watched a few videos on just how to set this thing up correctly, it was working like a champ, very capable, easy on the machine and leaves a very impressive cut result, excellent piece of equipment.

Very solid and runs smooth. Cuts great. No assembly directions but not too hard to figure out. Directions would be nice to save some time though.

The mower works great does what I needed it to do.the quality surpasses what I thought it would be
