MechMaxx NAM 68 68'' PTO Driven Flail Mower

I purchased this {68'' PTO Driven Flail Mower 3 Point 30-60hp , NAM68 }
I have a brush hog that I tow with my Kingquad but not happy with the wind rows it threw. The flail mower seemed much more efficient and they were right. It mulches everything I run over including rocks. I made a skid adjustment to help with the rocks. When I was done with about 9 acres of about 2' mixed grasses and wild roses I thought I should sharpen the hammers Would have been tough working under the three-point so removed it and used my shop hoist to hold the mower vertical. the hammers looked bad but to my surprise a 4 1/2 " grinder sharpened them quickly and did not remove much material at all. I have some heavier brush to deal with next year so will give it the true test. I recommend ordering the spare belts and hammers although I have no need for them yet. I did hit all the hammer bolts with an air impact and got a few 1/2 & 1/4 turns out of a few hammer bolts. Tested after the 9 acres and found NONE loose... Ohh, I'm using a JD 3038 E / No problem.

This NAM68 is a BEAST!!!! BUY 1! DONT HESITATE!!!! Everything ive cut with it has been a masterpiece. Grass. Brush piles. Small trees. Small stumps. Ive shaved some high spot down on my property and leveled it for easier mowing next time. Its a mower, stump grinder, brush grinder all in 1. Its SOOOOOO much quieter than a bush hog style mower. No vibrating. BEYOND happy with my purchase. Once i used it i sold every other cutter i own. My tractor is 40 hp and its perfect for it. Ive been mowing thru our small forest between the trees and kids can now ride thru the trees on bikes or any other little rides to enjoy the property. I was surprised how good the belt drive works. I figured i would smoke them or have to tighten them constantly. Nope. They hold so good ive killed the engine 2 times but no slippage. I would push every person thinking about buying 1 to go ahead and dont look back. You will not regret it!!!!

The mower is a good value. One grease fitting on the PTO would not take grease and had to be replaced. Dealing with Mechmax on the shipping was a bit frustrating. Bought the Peace of mind delivery service and after talking to Mech max about my upcoming schedule, they put my delivery on hold. The person I talked to wouldn’t ship it out immediately unless I bought the lift gate service as well. Once the freight company had my shipment, they had no problem accommodating my schedule. Never used the lift gate service and the peace of mind service just cost me money and delayed my order. This mower seems to work great for my purpose, clearing trails and right of ways. Turns overgrown weeds into a nice mulch and doesn’t mind the occasional stumps and stones.

Great frail mower, very good quality at a good cost. I have completed 20 acres of heavy undergrowth and the mower preformed great. This is one tough machine and I am very pleased with my purchase. Thanks Maxx

I decided to purchase the equipment to clear my land rather than pay someone to do it. I have not regreted the decision. Unit came well packaged right to my driveway. It chews though tough underbrush and small trees. We have lots of vines and as you can see it gets pretty low to the ground to grind it up. I have a 47hp tractor and has it no problems spinning those hammers. Add gear oil and grease, attach and go.

The mower seems good quality I only used it a little bit on some light brush worked no issues I do wish it worked with my quick hitch would not hook up to it but that being said the price was great very comparable to more expensive units I am so far very pleased with it

I received the Flail mower quickly after ordering. I have used it couple times so far and impressed so far with its cutting ability. Definitely was a good investment. I didn't see anything on the specs to show what distance from pto hitch to long edge would be for the Nam68 but it ended up being right size.

Very good attachment!! Well built and cuts well. Took about 1 hour to add oils and to bolt on the 3rd point.

Look closely at the product pictures to figure how to assemble the top 3pt hitch triangle among the various options. Requires some force.
The oil level check plug for the transmission is in an awkward spot, hard to check with the PTO casing in place.

Doorstep delivery at end of gravel driveway was great.

Running it behind an ancient Kubota L3410 with 27 PTO hp, fwiw. Cut 4" off the PTO shaft.

This flail mower is powerful and reliable. I purchased the NAM68, it was promptly delivered with minor assembly required. It knocks down brush and saplings with ease.

I purchased this flail mower after researching other similar units. I own a MechMaxx 32" sawmill, and based this purchase on the quality i observed in their sawmill. I am VERY happy with this mower, it is well built and operates as described. I will likely buy other products from MechMaxx

I spent a lot of time researching flail mowers. Watched comparison videos and read many different articles. For the size of tractor that I have, the NAM68 was the best choice for me. It has turned out to be a great choice. Delivery went smoothly, install was easy, and I couldn’t be happier with my flail mower!

Has definitely survived my test. I was able to clear a lot of saplings and undergrowth in a day. Couldn't be more pleased with the performance, especially at this price.

68" flail mower. is just perfect for around the ranch. handles all the small jobs every property owner needs to keep your homestead clean and looking great.

Excellent value for its designed use. Cuts much lower then a rotary cutter and is slightly slower. I used mine to expand my hay field and the low cut/superior mulching ability will allow me to direct seed into the new parcel without having to till.

Works great use it around my ponds to cut the banks no more weed waking. The trucking company delivered promptly and the mower was easily assembled.
